Job Summary:

This position is part of Finance but assigned to the HTAS System Standardization initiative and will work on Pricing Conversion projects in partnership with Regional Commercial, Billing and Operations teams, including Regional leadership to implement action plans for projects (where applicable). The responsibilities require the individual to provide critical analytics to various teams, perform root cause analysis, implement solutions, identify growth opportunities and lead strategic initiatives in the field. The Project Manager will apply Quest Management System (QMS) principles and tools to ensure Quest Diagnostics is efficient and effective in the delivery of its services, solutions, and processes while improving customer and employee satisfaction. This position will also be responsible for coaching others to learn and apply QMS principles and tools to their daily work.

The Quest Management System (QMS) is Quest Diagnostics approach to using a set of proven tools and methodologies to drive successful execution of, and results from, key initiatives and day-to-day work. It is the structured way we manage, lead, and solve problems. It is built on 7 practices:

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for management of price systems conversions from non-standard to QBS company standard system.

Liaison with Q-Suite project team to ensure seamless implementation.

Develop, lead and maintain project plans encompassing all facets of Pricing Infrastructure to ensure timely and accurate billing systems conversions.

Function in a lead role with Q-Suite, BU Commercial, Finance and Billing teams to ensure proper setup and accurate implementation of pricing files in order to minimize financial and customer impact.

Resolve all issues and communicate outcome to stakeholders.

Leads projects and working teams to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and close projects

Owns the timeline, budget, resource constraints, and deliverables / results

Ensures all appropriate tools are completed and used effectively (e.g., charter, Gantt chart, status updates)

Performs root cause analysis on project shortfalls and takes corrective action as necessary

Applies QMS principles and tools toward a variety of small to medium projects as well as other necessary skills, such as:

o Identifying root causes of issues and designing solutions that address them

o Defining, monitoring, and controlling processes

o Understanding (internal/ external) customer needs and designing solutions around them

o Identifying the impacts from change and developing proactive change plans

Supports various teams to achieve their goals by facilitating on-site workshops, rapid continuous improvement events, and providing ongoing guidance or consultation

Coaches other employees on the use of various tools, concepts and practices foundational to QMS in order for Quest Diagnostics employees to build self-sufficiency, sustainability and scalability

Work with Pricing Infrastructure, Billing, Commercial, IT and local site personnel to resolve pricing issues and provide feedback, education and training regarding pricing and pricing systems to all customers.

Manage setup, price rationalization, test mapping, and communication process.

Analyze and maintain pricing master files (mapping, Family Pricing, BET, etc) for all billing entities to ensure compliance with Government Regulations, Corporate Pricing and Compliance policies.

Understand the impact and provide analysis of both technical and pricing changes on areas such as client pricing, billing and legal compliance, and challenge any non-standard practices to ensure pricing integrity.

Develop and implement pricing processes to support and enhance the corporate strategies and initiatives for newly converted laboratory/business sites.

Develop tools to streamline pricing communication and test code mapping.

Qualifications / Job Requirements:

Demonstrated experience (1 to 3 years) working in Finance, Project Management, or Customer Solutions type roles.

Demonstrated experience (1 to 3 years) of leading projects from initiation to completion

Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions or workshops

Demonstrated experience with process management

Basic knowledge of VOC tools

Some experience leading changes

Effective written and verbal communication skills across multiple formats: formal presentations, meetings, conference calls, e-mails, and memos

Demonstrated creative thinking, problem solving

Strong ability to analyze and work with large datasets to accomplish project goals

Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with others

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Comfortable using Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access

Strong understanding of QBS pricing configuration and logic

Strong understanding of QDSS tables and billing account linkages

Knowledge of laboratory operations from order to cash

Knowledge of laboratory system test database structure and its meaning

Knowledge of laboratory industry payors, CPT coding, and billing environment relative to reimbursement/pricing dynamics

Training and Education:

BS in Business, Accounting, or Finance

Formal training in project management or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Lean, Theory of Constraints) preferred
