Principal International is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our actuarial team supporting financial analysis and capital management. As a Financial Analyst, youu2019ll work with international Member Companies to meet local and corporate financial needs.

* Lead the Impairment Testing process for Principal Internationalu2019s USD 2B of goodwill and other intangibles. This includes collaborating with local finance teams, Capital Markets and Corporate Accounting to set assumptions and present conclusions to key stakeholders.n
* Participate in discussions of actual and forecasted capital flows and provide insights that will help drive decisions on the optimal capital structure across our international businesses.n
* Assist in M&A valuation work as opportunities arise, both as we evaluate potential deals and incorporate acquisitions into our businesses.n
* Acquire expertise in various international products and markets and develop relationships with local finance staff.nn
Qualificationsn
Weu2019re looking for someone with: nn
* Bachelor's degree in finance, math, actuarial science, accounting or related field preferred. n
* 4+ years of relevant experience required. n
* Self-motivated with excellent problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. n
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills required. n
* Demonstrates the ability to embrace and understand the change process, and effectively guides others through change. n
* Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Excel required. Experience with programming languages (Microsoft PowerBI, R, ALFA, etc.) helpful. n
* Fluency in foreign language (specifically Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin or Cantonese) is helpful but not requirednn
