Job Description

PPG Architectural Coatings' Facility based in Huron, OH is now hiring an Environment, Health, and Safety Specialist! If you are passionate about safety and want to join an industry leader to begin your career, then this may be the opportunity for you!

As an EHS Specialist, you will provide environmental, health, and safety support for the largest facility within PPGs Architectural Coatings network. You will also provide support to PPGs Coatings Services facility in Sheffield Village, as advised. On an occasional basis, the position may be requested to support initiatives at other locations within the Ohio region.

Key Responsibilities:

* Initiate and influence integration of EHS policies and practices into the facility.
* Conduct routine reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and PPG EHS requirements
* Develop, implement, conduct and sustain EHS training, inspection programs, risk assessments and mitigation activities.
* Actively mentor, lead meetings and communicate with all levels within the organization.
* Lead incident investigations to determine the root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions, sharing lessons learned across the site.
* Provide site support to the Environmental Center of Excellence (COE) by maintaining compliance with environmental permits and EHS regulation, including air, waste and water programs.
* Play a key role in the development and oversight of facilities' EHS Teams, including the Emergency Response Team.
* Develop and coordinate the execution of the sites Industrial Hygiene programs.
* Actively identify and promote improvements that strengthen the sites EHS programs.
* Lead initiatives as advised by site or EHS leadership.

Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related field.
* 4-6 years experience
* Knowledge of safety regulations and consensus standards (OSHA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA), inspection procedures, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques, and safety and environmental education and training.
* Display initiative, passion and the ability to work independently with a wide range of individuals.
* Ability to make independent contributions, provide leadership and influence.
* Demonstrate ability to motivate change, possess good problem solving skills and effectively communicate at all levels.
