CNC Machinist B:
Set up and operate a variety of CNC Equipment, including lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal mills. Position is for 3rd Shift. Starting minimum pay of $21.35 plus shift differential!
* Select and utilize cutting tools best suited for specific machining operations.
* Load programs using appropriate methods as needed by machine tool.
* Independently set up and operate CNC mill/lathe.
* Change jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, etc. and make necessary adjustments to produce parts within specified limits.
* Setup tooling on bench or in machine as required with hand tooling or presetting instruments.
* Load tooling in machine tools as needed.
* Make final adjustments in tooling, fixtures, programs, and machine to obtain a part within specified limits.
* Responsible for first piece approval of production parts and must be able to inspect and record dimensions for features generated.
* Utilize inspection equipment to maintain quality standards.
* Set up peripheral equipment (saw, rod polisher, bar feeder, linear scales).
* Modify collets, jaws or other holding devices to produce special or short run parts within specifications.
* Manage inventory.
* Keep work area neat, clean and organized using the 5S+Safety approach.
* Support and participate in all LEAN activities
* Ability to manually deburr in cycle.
* Perform other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall operation.
* Perform TPM on machine (oil, coolant)
* Be an effective team member and perform other duties as required by supervision and as responsibilities necessitate
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Solid knowledge of machining practices (Speeds, feeds, tooling, programming, materials)
* Comprehensive knowledge of programming related to CNC machine controls.
* Solid blueprint reading skills.
* Familiarity and knowledge of general gage instruments (i.e. mics and calipers).
* Good shop math skills.
* Ability to problem solve and assist in a team atmosphere to correct problems
* Able to develop and/or modify a CNC program.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt to changing roles and changing priorities.
* Ability to multitask.
* Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for periods of 8+ hours, have contact with coolant and machining fluids. Physical demands include bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, and squatting.
