Come join Oracle Cloud Infrastructures (OCI) capacity management team managing compute capacity. This is a key role that owns capacity management compute workloads across Oracles global footprint supporting their IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS customers.
The Capacity Manager is responsible for ensuring that services, infrastructure and supply chain teams are able to deliver capacity in a cost effective and timely manner for OCIs customers. This includes monitoring key operating metrics and driving improvements, triggering orders to plan, tracking incoming racks and program management of resolving any ingestion delays, demand shaping customer usage to align with hardware and datacenter constraints, monitoring the performance and throughput or load on a server and drive optimization of internal management asks, and program management of both short-term capacity problems/resolutions and longer term capacity optimization initiatives.
Other key functions including reviewing & approving capacity requests against constraints, partnering with local and regional sales teams on large deal capacity ramp plans, establishing and refreshing overhead requirements, helping with efficiency initiatives, headroom strategy development and implementation, and other ad-hoc analysis and projects.
OCI is looking for a driven, strategic, analytical and execution oriented capacity manager with demonstrated experience driving and delivering results. This person will be responsible for working with a range of internal stakeholders to design, develop and manage operational execution mechanisms and resolve dependencies to allow scale of operations. You will help ensure operational success of Oracles cloud expansion strategy. The ideal candidate will need strong analytical, cross-team collaboration, and multi-tasking skills that can execute and deliver quickly. This role is located in Seattle, WA.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate across a wide array of capacity managers and planners to support customer capacity needs
* Identifying, building and monitoring key performance indicators
* Purchasing capacity for Oracles compute workload
* Support capacity requests and optimize capacity for paying customers
* Develop strategic initiatives such as headroom strategy or internal cost management plans
* Ad-hoc analysis
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of forecasting, analytics, or operations experience
* Working knowledge of SQL server, advanced knowledge a plus
* Mid to advanced level Excel modeling skills
* Program management; ability to influence cross-team stakeholders
* Operational mindset (whats the work, how do we get it done, how do we make it better)
* Degree in finance, economics, computer science, or related subject preferred

Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 5 years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.
