Job Description
Norfolk Southern Corporation is seeking resumes for a Windows Application Support Engineer with strong system and application skills to work with our customers to support enterprise applications. The candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of experience supporting Windows Applications in a corporate environment.
The successful candidate will become a member of the Integration Services team within the Norfolk Southern Information Technology Operations Department. The candidate will be responsible for the support and engineering of custom and COTS applications running on Windows Server. Candidate must have strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and application upgrades. In addition the candidate must be well rounded, possess maturity, vision, and a depth of experience that allows for grasping of issues quickly and making educated, critical judgments/decisions in the absence of complete information. This candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced 24x7 environment with on-call duties as required and must possess the ability to work with a diverse, high-performance team.
This position is in our mid-town Atlanta office location.
Responsibilities
Education: 4-yr College degree (in Computer Science, MIS, or related field) is desired

Intermediate scripting skills (PowerShell/VB Script)
Excellent writing skills
Excellent communication and listening skills
Advanced application and OS troubleshooting and analytical skills
Expert in Microsoft IIS and web application support
Strong experience supporting and troubleshooting .NET applications
Experience supporting highly available applications using Microsoft Clustering and network load balancing
Desired skills
Experience with implementing infrastructure supporting application containers
Experience with implementing automation to enable agile development
