Workday Solutions Architect/Technical Lead (contract position)

News Corp is on a nationwide search for an experienced Workday Solutions Architect/Technical Lead to join our team!

You will have broad Workday product knowledge with deep implementation expertise, which will enable you to guide the overall design, data management (data mapping and conversion responsibilities), and integrations (upstream and downstream systems).

We are looking for a contractor for a 6 month assignment with potential to go longer.

Location: New York, NY (open to qualified remote candidates)

Requirements:

* News Corp is in the process of going through a global Workday implementation and is in need of a strong Technical Lead with strong HCM and specifically Workday abilities.
* Strong background required in design, data management (data mapping and conversion responsibilities), and integrations (upstream and downstream systems).

* Preference for experience with testing end to end and payroll parallel.

* Preference for reporting experience.

* Goal is to get to one global instance working with the HR team.

* Strong end-to-end implementation experience with HR and/or Financial Information Systems required. Workday implementation experience is essential.

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively collaborate across teams.

* Ability to juggle multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.

* 5+ years of relevant work experience is preferred.

* Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business.

* Ten or more years of relevant application and software architecture experience is a plus.

* Experience with HCM/HRMS

* Solid experience with major implementations that exploit the full capabilities (Client, design, implement and optimize) of Workday.

Responsibilities:

* Plan, develop, refine, optimize, and support the enterprise architecture as required to meet the business requirements of the organization. Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture blueprint for the organization, overseeing the use of best practices for modern application integration. Candidates with a strong technical background is a requirement.
* Provide technical direction to team members and is a key contributor. Ability to solve highly technical complex problems and be called on to consult on projects. Viewed as a subject matter expert within the organization with Workday and specifically with the Payroll module.

* Drive & influence the delivery of solutions across our Workday ecosystem with a specific focus on our existing business process and technical landscape

* Work with Operations Team and Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and release solutions.

* Engage with business stakeholders to understand required capabilities, integrating business knowledge with technical solutions

* Engage with Technical Architects and technical staff to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs

* Provides technical review reports with recommendations to the leadership team

* Establish effective project plans and timelines, set milestones and manage project resources
