Operations Director, Student Membership (U.S. University Market)
U.S.: can be remote or based in Princeton, NJ or New York, NY office
Dow Jones is seeking an Operations Director to join the Student Membership team at the Wall Street Journal.
The Operations Director is responsible for the processes, tools, data and technologies that support the Student Membership Sales and Relationship teams that sell to and service colleges and universities. As the Operations Director your job is to increase productivity by simplifying processes and optimizing automation tools, managing the technology systems that are critical to our success, and providing broad operational day-to-day support.
This role is a critical resource to the Student Sales and Relationship teams, enabling scalable best practices in lead generation and database management, as well as data analysis that will be used to inform strategic decisions across the entire Student Membership team and other parts of the business.
Responsibilities for Operations Director:
* Enhance productivity by enabling the Student Sales and Relationship teams (pre and post sales teams) to work smarter by leveraging existing resources and evaluating new tools
* Work alongside the marketing team to refine the lead qualification process, arrange email campaigns and share information to create marketing content
* Analyze and report on marketing campaign performance with reporting and dashboards
* Partner with Sales and Finance to create and maintain sales forecasting models and informed budget data.
* Assist in preparing quarterly business review presentations
* Serve as primary system administrator for Student Membership CRM (Salesforce)
* Conduct Pipeline, Opportunity, Contract and Billing inspections in Salesforce
* Set up dashboards and reports, both in CRM and beyond, to track sales operations and cross-functional efficiencies, and identify areas for improvement
* Research and manage integrations between Salesforce and other systems including Pardot, Cirrus, and ABM solutions
* Track the sales funnel to deliver analysis and insights, including pipeline health, renewal success, and overall goal attainment
* Improve renewal and upsell processes as they relate to Student Membership
* Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, and provide relevant training and updates to assist with talent development
* Serve as a liaison between Sales + Relationship teams and Customer Service
Qualifications for Operations Director
* 5+ years of experience (a combination of Sales and Sales Operations)
* Proficiency with Salesforce
* Experience managing sales automation systems and CRM systems is mandatory
* Proficiency with Google Suite and advanced knowledge of Excel preferred
* Intellectual curiosity
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* An ability to initiate and build relationships with people in an open, friendly, and accepting manner
* An innate drive to innovate and optimize the use of available resources
* Comfort with adapting and adjusting to shifting priorities and change
