Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager, to help manage build and release management, who has a proven track record through multiple product cycles in a design and manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for collaborating cross functionally and planning hardware builds to meet internal customer needs and creatively manage the build configurations. The successful candidate will have experience in Hardware development ideally with build, material, release and configuration management, including working with SW and FW dependencies. Desired and helpful is work experience with high volume device manufacturing and working with external partners in different time zones. Additionally, the candidate will leverage effective written and oral communication and cross-organizational technical program management skills to thrive in a highly innovative, evolving, and dynamic environment.

Integral part of the Program Management team through the development phase, responsible for successfully driving the engineering builds. Manages all of the engineering builds in close coordination with the Dev leads, NPI and factory teams to drive build continuity in accordance to plans.

Primary responsibilities will include partnering with, and coordinating with several teams of Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Software Engineers, Design Verification Engineers, in the Factory with Process and Reliability Engineers and Manufacturing Test Engineers to create end-to-end development and engineering build plans.

Collects quantities and requirements for specific prototype configurations as required by development, test and validation teams.

Engages with the factory and with suppliers, both directly and indirectly to ensure orders are placed for parts, assemblies, and components timely, and follows through to ensure continuity of supply of components for the engineering builds.

Applies judgement to adjust and alter configs, build quantities and schedule in close concert with stakeholders to respond to any issues that may arise during the build

Owns fulfilment of specific device and config needs to various stakeholders through the development cycle

Responsible for tracking and distribution management of incoming engineering build devices, and ensuring delivery prioritization of the targeted configs to the right teams

Other areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: Making and driving decisions based on program needs, leading program build team meetings during the product cycle, driving problems to resolution quickly; developing, driving and maintaining a detailed build plan and schedule. Tracking and reporting out build status.

Responsible to drive manufacturing best practices, build readiness, incoming material tracking and overall good planning skills with the factory.

Lead development teams to create end-to-end program plans, specifications, performance metrics, production qualification plans, and conduct executive reviews.

Anticipate risks; assess, mitigate, and manage accordingly by negotiating system trade-offs with stakeholders Drive the execution and delivery using common engineering tools, triage, tracking and reporting aligning to product milestones

Organize and present program reviews/status to engineering, business, and senior management.

Ensure timely ordering of parts and issue of POs to keep schedule. Manage budget for the builds, forecasts and negotiation with suppliers.

Domestic and periodic travel to Asia may be required

Required Qualifications:

4+ years experience working as a technical program manager or other engineering discipline in a high-volume device manufacturing capacity

Proven product development background with a passion for shipping product, especially managing complex builds and configurations

Experience with one or more of the following: Manufacturing process planning, NPI, System integration, PC architecture, CPU's and memory technologies, Touch and displays

Preferred Qualifications:

Detailed understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes and best practices to define solution requirements. Strong Excel and other planning SW tools

Proven verbal and written communication skills

Enthusiastic, attention to detail, results oriented, organized, motivated and self-driven

High degree of flexibility -willing to fill in the gaps rather than relying on others

Able to lead and manage teams in high pressure situations while driving continuous improvement efforts
