Job Summary

Position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities and functions of the Technical Services department, providing ongoing technical leadership in support of Memorial Hermann values and objectives.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills required in a large, complex corporate Information System. A working knowledge of electronic health records (EHRs - preferrably Cerner), system upgrades, development tools and methodologies is required. The Clinical Solutions Manager reports to the Director and/or System Executive of Clinical Solutions.

The Clinical Solutions Manager applies management and technical skills in line with the values and goals of MH to ensure the efficient, effective and consistent delivery of high quality services. The Clinical Solutions Manager is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to the values of the corporation through active participation in the Partners In Caring, Customer Service and Continuous Quality Improvement programs.

Experience leading technical teams for EHRs - Cerner Core experience strongly preferred

Knowledgeable of application programming skills and technologies for Cerner Millennium

Ideal candidate with have experience with Cerner suite including clinical decision support, position build, code installation, domain strategy, locations, and SMART on FHIR

Experience in leading complex, integrated enterprise projects

Understanding of large datasets management

Must have experience leading system upgrades and migrations

Preferred: Have an understanding of SMART on FHIR and/or API integration - ideal candidate will have experience with SMART on FHIR and/or APIs integrating with Cerner

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

Licenses/Certifications: (None)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

* Five (5) years of industry training and increasingly responsible experience in information systems, including software and programming activities

Principal Accountabilities

* Manages, assigns and coordinates workflow of assigned staff.
* Provides guidance in problem determination and resolution.
* Participates in the design reviews of applications software.
* Leads the development, implementation, communication, and promotion of IT strategic plans.
* Supervises, trains, and mentors a staff of skilled information systems professionals.
* Participates in the establishment of department quality objectives and benchmarks. Coordinates the implementation of effective tools to measure performance against these standards.
* Provides the support and motivation necessary to create and maintain a technical atmosphere that encourages proactive research and development.
* Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
* Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
* Other duties as assigned.
