Overview:
We are looking for a Mobile Engineering Manager to help us build awesome apps that integrate with our services platform reporting to the Director of Mobile. The Mobile group is responsible for application architecture, development and innovation of new feature development to support consumer mobile solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in iOS/Android design and development, with one or more apps in the App store/Google Play Store. Essential Functions:
* Build, lead and retain best-in-class engineering talent to build a diverse high performing team.
* Act as a hands-on leader who contributes to the development effort while helping grow your team members.
* Successfully lead a high-performing software engineering team; participate in code reviews, wireframe designs and proof of concepts.
* Coach and develop team members. Help set and fulfill the engineering hiring plan for the team, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing.
* Help set team goals and technical direction while ensuring that they align with the goals of the larger organization.
* Take ownership of the successful timely development and delivery of core features including architecture, estimation, planning, user story creation, and day to day management. Effective planning and reporting are key to this.
* Drive improvement initiatives in engineering reliability, productivity, process and quality.
* Work with QA team in analyzing and resolving production issues and defects.
* Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
* 3+ years as a Manager with deep understanding of UX and UI design paradigms, and ability to implement and design mobile apps.
* 8+ year(s) of overall mobile software development experience. (native mobile app).
* A fully rounded technologist with full stack working experience with hands on experience in developing scalable mobile applications (Android/iOS,) and integrating with backend APIs.
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in software engineering best practices and the ability to influence the team to adopt the practices especially in the area of mobile development.
* Technology savvy. Have broad understanding on current technology trends in mobile technology and a desire to stay on top of industry trends.
* Experienced establishing and/or executing a culture of engineering rigor, using data such as RUM, error/crash reports, survey feedback to identify gaps in quality engineering practices.
* Demonstrate the ability in inspiring, motivating, growing the team to achieve high team engagement, efficiency, and quality.
* Experience working on product development collaborating with multiple teams that have different development models, release cycles, and developer needs.
* Experience working with and tuning high-volume mobile applications.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to clearly write technical specifications and strong estimating and planning skills.

* Up to 5% travel Offices Onshore and Offshore, Conferences up to 4 times a year.
