We are looking for a dedicated Systems Integration Engineer to join the OPIR team in Denver, Colorado. This position is in support of the NextGen and SBIRS OPIR programs, responsible for testing interfaces with various USAF and Joint organizations and their supporting contractors, and will define the scope of testing vital to achieving System Certification and Operational Acceptance.
As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will:
Conduct mission scenario and recorded live event playback for performance and functionality evaluations; integrate and evaluate delivered capabilities prior to operational delivery
Prepare for and participate in design reviews and checkpoints for planned NextGen GEO enterprise deliveries
Develop test approaches, objectives, and procedures
Collect vital test data and conduct an analysis of test data to support objective assessment
Provide technical support and information to government personnel performing operations, operational test, and assist engineering teams in troubleshooting efforts
Travel along the Front Range of Colorado on a weekly basis will be required, with out-of-state travel for technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and system test activities.
To be successful, you will typically have 10+ years of professional experience with a degree.
Basic Qualifications:
Familiarity with testing and problem solving for integrated systems
Experience with SBIRS mission processing, operations, and external users
Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Desired Skills:
Experience with SBIRS constellation command and control and mission management
Familiarity with conduct of communications end-to-end testing and exercises
Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data
Ability to interact with hardware and software developers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building great relationships with team members
Proven behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
