Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital
Responsible for receiving and accurately processing surgical or diagnostic tissue specimens. Accurately prepares histologic slides from tissue section for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Pathologists.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Associate of Applied Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or Histological Technician training after completion of the Medical Laboratory Technicians degree and certified as HT ASCP.
(OR) At least 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of biology and chemistry (must include 12-credit hours in both) and one year full time experience in a histopathology laboratory in the U.S., Canada, or an accredited laboratory.
(OR) Anyone who graduated before 4/24/1995: Must have graduated from an approved or accredited Medical Laboratory or Clinical Laboratory training program or have successfully completed at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures course and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician) and one year full time experience in a histopathology laboratory in the U.S., Canada, or an accredited laboratory.
Minimum Work Experience
One (1) year of training or work experience in histopathology required.
