Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Madison, Alabama has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer. The selected candidate designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, and material handling using the manufacturing execution system at the Huntsville Manufacturing Center. Designs arrangement of manufacturing cells within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the assembly and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of materials, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Works with Quality Assurance on assembly non-conformance data to help improve manufacturing quality. Creates and maintains all manufacturing bill of materials(MBOM) for the manufacturing site.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors in Science degree and two years relevant Manufacturing experience; 0 Years experience with Masters Degree

Experience with SAP

Experience with Microsoft Office Products

Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques

Experience with Solidworks Composer
Experience with Designing manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects
Experience in working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch.
