Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Hardware Engineer for Operational Command and Control Development to join the Command and Launch Team. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.

What You rsquo;ll Get To Do:

Candidate will be responsible for HW design/architecture implementation to support the Operational Command and Control mission. Candidate will design and provide physical hardware connectivity and assembly of required design to successfully support all hardware and software requirements.

Our Hardware Engineer will have the opportunity to be involved with:

* Architecting highly scalable and highly available systems, complex computing platforms, for use within the GBSD weapon systems
* Providing technical experience in consumer and employee facing enterprise systems
* Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of technical architecture, application systems design and integration in a large heterogeneous enterprise environment with hands on experience in embedded systems, COTS and GOTS systems
* Performing Integration for militarized COTS solutions
* MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) with CAMEO
* Writing/reviewing requirements, acquisition specs for Hardware with applications in command and control and cybersecurity
* Managing requirements in DOORS
* Designing components by using knowledge of 2D/3D CAD/CAM modeling tools

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

bull; Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an ABET accredited university with 14 years of experience; 12 years with Masters; 9 years with PhD

bull; Current Active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to obtain Program Access Request clearance.

bull; Experience/Familiarity with cloud computing services: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS)

bull; Experience/Familiarity with some technologies used by application teams: Angular.js, Node.js, Spring/Java

bull; Experience with architecting highly scalable and highly available systems

bull; Technical experience in consumer and employee facing enterprise systems

bull; Required knowledge and understanding of technical architecture, application systems design and integration in a large heterogeneous enterprise environment with hands on experience in REST, SOA, Java/J2EE, XML, Websphere/Weblogic/Apache TomCat Application Server, Rules

bull; Experience with applications similar to Framework, Docker, Kubernetes, Akamai, PHP, Github, OpenStack, Apache CXF, Restify, Express

Preferred Qualifications:

bull; Exposure to infrastructure and platform capabilities - container, middleware, messaging, routing components

bull; Exposure to cloud development and migration
