Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Category Manager - Electrical Components to join our Procurement Organization.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing electrical components sourcing strategies for electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles, driving cost reductions, supply base management and negotiating supply agreements. The role is critical to the success of new technology launches and will be responsible for understanding technical aspects of the category and supply base.
Essential Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
* Develop and execute sourcing strategy categories to align with Navistar's business objectives
* Research industry trends, global markets, benchmark data, understand cost drivers and emerging technologies
* Lead a cross functional team of sourcing specialists, forward sourcing managers, supply chain, finance and program managers to implement strategic initiatives
* Lead strategic sourcing decisions for both new product launches as well as current business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities
* Identify and develop new cost reduction opportunities using variety of procurement levers including competitive bidding, global sourcing, negotiation, technology, supply chain/footprint optimization, target costing, aftermarket service parts, etc.
* Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure that product quality, on time delivery and service levels are met
* Build and manage relationships with cross functional team members and management. Facilitate communications between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve queries or issues
* Ability to travel 20-30%
Basic Requirements
* Bachelor's degree
* At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
* 1 year lead experience
OR
* Master's degree
* At least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
* 1 year lead experience
OR
* At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
* 1 year lead experience
Additional Requirements
* Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
