POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems Analyst position is expected to play an integral role in setting Marathon Retail Payments POS strategy and working with our internal and external business partners in developing, testing and executing our POS plans, software and initiatives. The Senior POS Systems Analyst will maintain on-going relationships and communication with our business partners, particularly the POS software vendors and our payments processor, and keep apprised of industry payments developments and technology. This position has access to a full POS lab of equipment/software with test and production network capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assumes a lead role for the POS Team.
* Expected to be a subject matter expert of Retail Payments activities relative to POS technology and serves as backup for other POS related job assignments. Stays abreast of industry developments in the technical payments and petroleum space and initiatives.
* Provides consultation and expertise to management on all aspects of POS and technology operations, including interface with IT Services, and Marathon's marketing field operations, including presentation support.
* Represents the Company and provides retail payments operations expertise in relations with POS software vendors, including software development projects and on-going support. This position is the lead liaison with POS vendors. The position makes decisions on software functionality with the vendors.
* Coordinates regular communication and project development work with our third-party payment processor.
* Manages Retail Payments technical work with payment card networks, including proprietary payment products.
* Manages Retail Payments technical integrations with managed network partners.
* Manages Retail Payments technical integrations with loyalty partner.
* Analyzes sales/statistics or procedural recommendations submitted by various areas of Retail Payments, Company components, and vendors and from that develops, for consideration and approval, proposals reflecting major departmental procedure changes in an effort for continuous improvement, including internal systems support/improvements/integration.
* Analyzes and creates needed changes to Marathon POS Specifications Documents.
* Conducts software user acceptance testing with the introduction of new software, specification changes, etc. Approves test results and works with software vendors on necessary changes/fixes.
* Manages payment vendor contract support and budget plans.
* Develops concepts, processes, and procedures for point-of-sale material, security, and training, including PCI support.
* Coordinates and prioritizes changes to internal processing systems and ensures completion of projects.
* Represents Retail Payments interests when assigned to cross-functional teams or special projects involving major process or procedural modifications or improvements.
* Will act as Retail Payments representative on digital commerce initiatives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

* A Bachelors Degree is preferred. All disciplines will be considered, with preference for IT or Business disciplines.
* Minimum 10 plus years of experience in point of sale, back office or other retail systems is preferred, and exceptional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
* Strong networking experience/background desired.
