The Integrated Oncology Division of LabCorp in Brentwood, TN is seeking a 3rd Shift Clinical Laboratory Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
* Directly Supervise and assist in the Flow Cytometry, Histology, and Accessioning Departments.
* Ability to relate professionally with people, analytical abilities, motivational skills, time management skills, and supervisory skills.
* Assist with the training of new laboratory personnel.
* Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of instruments for acceptable Quality Control and Corrective Action Taken.
* Ensure that the Flow Cytometry and Histology Lab complies with requirements set forth in the Compliance Compartment and CAP.
* Working Supervisor position, on the bench processing.
* Assigns, oversees, and reviews the work of employees.
* Directs all phases of work, quality, service, and costs; and performs tests or assays as required. See attached grid for leveling criteria.
* Ability to relate professionally with people, analytical abilities, compose letters/memorandum, coordinate events, motivate others, organizational skills, research information, time management, train employees, written and verbal communications, supervisory skills.
* Within compliance of state and federal labor standards, may work at the bench level intermittently for purposes of QA/QC, training, and workflow.
* Speech clarity, utilization of fingers and hands, standing-remaining on one's feet in an upright position, sitting-remaining in the normal seated position, handling-seizing, holding, grasping.
* Additional job duty (as assigned): (Hazardous Chemical Waste Management) Proper identification of known hazardous material in the work place.
* The knowledge of personal protection measures.
* The avoidance of accidents.
* The knowledge of hazardous waste characteristics, hazardous waste volume generation limits, accumulation limits, spill control measures, record keeping, proper handling and container management, labeling, container and storage inspection.
* Working Conditions: Possible exposure to infection from disease-bearing specimens; regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne diseases; must comply with applicable safety procedures.
Requirements
* Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Sciences
* License & Certification:
* Tennessee Supervisors license or eligibility is required within 6 months of hire date
* ASCP &/or NCA/Clinical Laboratory Scientist
* Must meet all State and Local licensing requirements where the laboratory is located and must meet CLIA requirements.
* At least 1 year of Supervisory Experience
* Flexibility to work between the different departments
* Ability to pass color blind test
