Job Description

Chase Consumer Lending Technology provides technology support for Home, Auto and Card lending products for Consumer and Community Banking. The Home and Auto Architecture and Engineering team is looking for highly motivated, experienced and talented architects to strategically lead our modernization, engineering acceleration and business innovation initiatives.

Home, Auto and Engineering Architecture is responsible for providing strategic and practical leadership to the application, product and business development teams in the Home and Auto lending domains. The team is also responsible for leadership in DevOps and engineering delivery practices and tooling, further enabling application teams to delight the business and Chases clients.

Architects will be responsible for partnering with senior leadership in the business and technology to define and evolve multi-year strategies, incorporating business objectives as well as enterprise technology objectives. Architect must have strong product delivery experience and be capable of producing practical, valuable and credible guidance/architecture for product teams. Architect must also be comfortable in managing and reducing complexity in technology portfolios, as Chases strong history of market success and acquisitions has gathered a wide range of technology solutions, leveraging vendor and proprietary solutions, as well as heritage mainframe through modern cloud technologies. Experience in creating solutions using Machine Learning Models is preferred. This role will work with business partners and data scientists to produce robust and scalable machine learning models and enable the services to be deployed and integrated into existing business workflows.

The Architecture team works with senior management and core delivery teams. Key partners include senior technology management, business stakeholders, application developer leads, and engineers. Architects are expected to excel in communication skills across a variety of audiences, levels and technical competence.

Chase is aggressively pursuing a cloud-based, platform-oriented, product-centric architecture, delivered with strong DevOps practices and continuous, automated, measured value. Public cloud, Platform-as-a-service, agile (scrum) and CI/CD experience are highly desirable in top candidates. Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

* BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
* 10-15 years in application development and delivery
* 5+ years in architecture delivery
* Strong experience and leadership in contemporary practices, patterns, and tooling, including, but not limited to:
* Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, internal / external, hybrid, etc.)
* Information/Data architecture and Data Modeling Principles
* Distributed, fault-tolerant, highly scalable databases and related concepts (e.g. CAP theorem, eventual consistency)
* Event-driven architecture and common events
* Rules Engines and Decision System
* Building automation and models using Machine Learning (ML) & AI
* Big Data technologies and utilities (Hadoop, Spark SQL, Hive)
* API design and management
* Service definition and consumption including API, brokers, REST APIs
* Defining Non-functional requirements and architectures to satisfy availability, extensibility, and resiliency needs
* Web responsive design applications (JavaScript, CSS)
* Agile/scrum delivery, including scaled practices (LeSS, SAFe, Scrum of scrums)
* Devops practices and delivery pipelines meeting CI/CD objectives
* Demonstrated ability to document strategy in partnership with business and technology leaders
* Ability to work well at a conceptual and practical levels, resolve ambiguity, and to drive concepts out into workable solutions
* Ability to define target state architectures, and develop realistic transition plans for achieving target state
* Hands-on experience modeling with UML, object-oriented constructs, or other modeling language
* Experience with formal enterprise architecture models and tooling, such as TOGAF
* Experience in successfully navigating and honoring highly regulated ecosystems
* Proven ability to successfully lead through influence, data and sound architecture recommendations
