Business/Role Summary:

This role is responsible for directing and developing advocacy strategy for international trade and export control issues impacting Texas Instruments global business and operations. The position is located in Washington DC and will report to the Vice President, World Wide Government Relations.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct, develop and implement advocacy strategies regarding international trade policy issues. Includes trade related legislation, regulations, negotiations and any trade issues or policies that can impact TI’s global business and operations.

Represent TI in activities related to the World Semiconductor Council.

Develop and lead TI Government Relations advocacy strategy and provide legislative and regulatory support for all relevant export control related issues, working closely with TI Global Trade Compliance and TI Law Department.

Promote policies that advance TI’s manufacturing operations, supply chain and business in all regions.

Closely monitor and analyze policy developments in order to strategically apprise and recommend strategies and solutions to senior managers.

Work with TIGR team based in key regions to develop issues and support them as necessary.

Serve as liaison on international trade and export control issues with the US executive branch and Congress.

Represent TI in key trade associations and their relevant committees to advance TI’s priorities.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

Required Bachelor’s degree, preferred advanced degree – Law or Master’s degree in a related policy field.

Seven plus years of similar issues management in these policy areas and proven track record.

Solid knowledge of US trade and export control policies.

Excellent and persuasive written, oral and presentation communications skills. Can communicate effectively at all levels.

Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Self-starter, who takes the initiative, solves problems, adapts to changing circumstances and acts with urgency as needed.

Ability to understand complex policy issues and strategically position TI in an effective manner.

Knowledge of technology policy issues and/or semiconductor industry preferred.

Occasional domestic travel and international travel.

Quick study; ability to adapt skills and new policy challenges.
