Overview
We are looking for a Speech Pathologist to join our team! This is a multidisciplinary acute care setting, where collaboration is a must. The team is made up of 22 Adult SLPs-both Inpatient and outpatient with a wide range of experience, education, and skills within the team. Information is freely shared & education and skill development is stressed. Wide variety of patient diagnosis and opportunity to step outside your comfort zone. Learn something every day!
This individual will evaluate, diagnose and treat swallowing, speech, language, and communication difficulties. Recommend d/c disposition to next level of care appropriately. Performs direct patient care services including the supervision of support personnel and students. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.
Preferred experience includes, independence or training in swallowing instrumental assessments (VFSS, FEES). Specialty in Swallowing (BCS-S) Board certified specialist in swallowing is also preferred. Experience in an acute care setting. Experience or education and some experience with trachs, vents, and speaking valves is needed for this role.
This is a PRN position. We're looking for someone to help on weekends, as well as, have availability during the week, up to 2 days (preferably Thursday and Friday availability).

Requires graduation from an accredited academic program in speech pathology or if foreign trained, graduation from a speech pathology education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA. Requires current license in the State of Indiana within 12 months.Requires a certificate of clinical competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for this certificate. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
