SUMMARY
Catches and stacks material off the back of the machines in the Plant. Performs hand assembly, hand gluing, folding or any other duties as assigned by supervision including working the Band Saw, Partition Slotter, Baler, and other various hand labor positions.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
* Hand labor such as stripping, folding, counting, taping, gluing boxes.
* Stacking and counting boxes as they come off the back of various pieces of equipment in the Plant.
* Sweeping and cleaning work areas.
* Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction, communicates observations to Operators, Supervisors and/or maintenance personnel.
* Measures work piece dimensions with calibrated tape measure to determine accuracy or machine operation.
* Ability to recognize non-conforming material such as damaged or defective items.
* Inspects completed work.
* Sets the Good example for others to follow.
* Safe and proper use of basic tools and equipment, for example: hand bander, pallet jack, and small hand tools.
* Basic work area setup with Supervision.
* Discards scrap or defective pieces of waste into scrap containers or the Baler.
* Feeds scrap into the Baler if needed.
* Understands and practices all Quality Operational Procedures, Work Instructions, and Job Safety Analysis applicable with Job Description.
* Complete required paper and Computer work.
