The Solutions Architect (SA) is primarily responsible for developing, documenting, training and enabling memory and storage solutions for Enterprise on-premise and Cloud Customers using Intel Optane Persistent Memory for a variety of data center usages, such as SAP HANA, Virtualized infrastructure, Redis, Oracle and Cassandra. They are responsible for deploying and operating proof of concepts of these solutions and assisting end customers as they deploy this new technology. Because this is a new technology, enabling it can go far beyond traditional or current industry approaches and include some element of pathfinding.
This role requires cross-discipline knowledge of server architecture from compute, memory, storage, and network to IT end-user workloads and applications. The SA is responsible for the engineering concept, design and implementation of innovative, cost effective and high-performance persistent memory solutions across various Intel teams and business groups in a manner that allows ease of use, effective collateral compilation to support marketing activities and quick adoption by users. The SA will specify and refine the requirements of hardware, software applications, OS/hypervisors, management, monitoring, and performance testing to develop compelling proof points supporting customer use cases.
This role requires software engineering knowledge from database to infrastructure in both enterprise and cloud applications. The SA should have a deep understanding of operational and reliability aspects of systems they build, including resource management, networking protocol stacks, file systems, troubleshooting and monitoring. The SA will be accountable for architecting and designing comprehensive technical solutions that meet end-customer requirements, accountable for partnering with business partners to characterize solutions that are aligned to Intel business needs and gains acceptance of high-level design and detailed design documentation through enterprise and peer design reviews. You will also need to deeply understand the memory and storage subsystem of server architecture.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Proposed solutions that demonstrate a performance/Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) advantage to end users.
Clear requirements for test plans and metrics to support documentation of the advantages.
End-user POC enablement and support for these solutions.
Developing technical sales collateral that will enable field teams to scale the solution.
Documented proof points using benchmarking, customer test results, or ISV/OEM/CSP test measurements.
Engineer to Engineer working sessions with customers considering Optane Persistent Memory to help them adopt.
Influence across Intel and ISV/CSP/OEM to guide future product definition, required code enhancements and required testing/analysis needed to improve performance on Optane Persistent Memory and to enable application direct data persistence.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 9+ years of relevant industry experience.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience working with customers on data center solutions (i.e. HPC, Cloud, Big data, virtualized infrastructure, etc.).
* 3+ years of experience with enterprise or cloud workloads, applications, and/or performance benchmarking.
* 3+ years of experience in market usage in one or more of the following: in-memory databases, virtualization, containers, big data software stacks, HPC, or cloud solutions.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
* 3+ years of experience with memory or storage-based solutions.
* 2+ years of experience in sales or marketing of technical solutions.
* 2+ years of experience working with cloud architectures.
