Your Role and Responsibilities
Senior Contract Negotiator in the Telecommunications category team (Location - Raleigh, NC (RTP)

This team supports IBM Global Technology Services (GTS) strategic outsourcing accounts with Telecom supplier requirements for either Network Managed Services (NMS), Multi-WAN Services (MWS), and/or various agency transport models. The Senior Negotiators (SNs) work closely with the GTS account teams and negotiate the appropriate flow-down terms with IBM's suppliers. As part of these negotiations, the SNs will internally collaborate with bid and sourcing teams, and externally with supplier business team as well as their outside legal counsel.

This job role requires the ability to:

* Interpret terms and commitments made in contracts
* Contract and negotiate contract amendments
* Provide guidance on contractual and commercial matters plus IBM policies and practices.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Environment:

* Professional knowledge of supplier contracts and experience in negotiating with suppliers.

Communication/Negotiation:

* Guide other professionals. Adapt communications and approaches to conclude negotiations with various partners, resulting in common agreements.

Problem Solving:

* Analyze complex/new situations, anticipate potential problems and future trends, assess opportunities, impacts, and risks. Develop and implement solutions.

Contribution/Leadership:

* Leads multi-functional teams, or conducts special projects. Has vision of functional or unit mission. Influences people and organizations, including executive management, when issues are complex/difficult and require considerable diplomacy.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Educational Experience:

* JD degree is preferred.

Business Unit Experience:

* Experience in IBM Global Technology Services (GTS) Strategic Outsourcing (SO) accounts.
* Experience in negotiating associated Telecommunication scope for SO deals and the associated client engagements with supplier flow-down terms.
