Your Role and Responsibilities
This role is located in the IBM office in Research Triangle Park. There is no remote work option (post covid).
There are no relocation funds for this role so you would need to relocate at your own expense.

IBM is seeking a people manager to lead the IT enablement and management of IBMs newest strategic Z Software IT Platform. IBM's Z platform is critical to IBM's and IBM's customers success as IBM pushes the boundaries of what can be accomplished on the mainframe. This job will involve leading a team of software engineers that will build out the latest IT platform to support IBM's Z platform business. The platform is written in the latest Cloud technologies and hosted on IBM's public cloud. It carries one of IBM's highest business continuity classifications. The platform will ultimately sunset a number of legacy systems as part of the longer term roadmap. The team will be approximately 20-25 people. You will be responsible for driving the delivery of IT features using Agile methods and engineering best practices. You will be responsible or managing the budget and all of the team dynamics.

The individual should have experience as a people manager and a proven track record delivering IT projects at scale. The work requires the ongoing augmentation and enhancement of the platform in addition to ensuring operational excellence. This job is part of the IBMs CIO office where we focus on delivering best of breed IT for IBM. Agile is at the forefront of how we work. Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* 3+ years experience in a lead role, mentoring, guiding, and growing less experienced peers on a globally dispersed technical team
* 3+ years working with Cloud Technologies, current on the latest Cloud technologies, various avenues of hosting, preferably Knowledgeable on IBM's cloud
* 3+ years Agile Development experience
* Previous experience managing global budgets
* Knowledgeable in software engineering best practices
* Proven track record delivering IT projects at scale

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* Prior experience developing application for the Cloud
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or equivalent experience in a closely related field
