About the Role

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer you will work with automotive amplifiers and other similar audio processing products. Products typically consist of a main microcontroller for configuration, communication and control and a DSP processor for audio processing. In this role you will be responsible to develop a quality strategy, support customer projects from a project quality, and will lead the engineering process activity to adhere to Automotive SPICE process model.

Your Team

You will not have any direct reports, but will work with a global team consisting of members based in various development centers.

What You Will Do

* QA interface to customer
* Analyze customer engineering quality requirements
* Present on the overall process capabilities to the customer
* Negotiate and agree on the QA requirements for the project
* Establish a QA strategy for being achieved for the project and agree with customer
* Develop a project QA plan
* Review the project process to ensure the quality commitments can be achieved
* Provide direction to the QA engineers supporting the projects and ensure QA strategy is implemented as planned
* Collaborate with customer teams, cross-functional team and ensure the quality plan can be implemented and achieved for the project
* Provide the expertise to drive the organization for compliance to required process models (CMMI, ASPICE).
* Oversee QA activities for the project
* Develop an ASPICE execution plan for the project
* Mentor the project teams to implement and achieve ASPICE
* Prepare for ASPICE assessment, interface with customer assessors and external assessors
* Ensure project Audits & ASPICE Assessments are performed as planned
* Support resolution and escalation of Quality issues
* Provide leadership for assessments and assessment readiness.
* Conduct periodic process reviews to ensure ASPICE compliance
* Perform process gap analysis / need analysis based on the customer QA expectations
* Participate in project meetings and provide guidance to team to ensure process compliance
* Perform quality analysis and direct improvement to be implemented within the project

What You Need

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
* 12 years overall experience
* 8+ years of working in a software-oriented position
* 8+ years of working in a software quality assurance role
* Working knowledge of software development processes and tools
* Working knowledge of requirements development processes and tools
* Working knowledge of validation processes and tools
* Working knowledge of program management
* Experienced with the development of automotive electronics modules and systems
* Experienced with helping an organization to achieve adherence to the CMMI or ASPICE process model
* Experienced operating in a software quality role including ASPICE/CMMI auditing and assessing
* Experienced communicating and interfacing directly to the OEM customers
* Able to communicate in a global matrixed organization at all levels
* Capable project management and time management skills

What is Nice to Have

* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
* 8 years overall experience
* Familiarity with audio product development.
* ASPICE provisional / competent Assessor
* ISO 26262 Certification
