Our plant in Tomahawk, WI manufactures, finishes and ships windshields, composite and plastic parts to our final assembly plants. Join us as a Skilled Trades Supervisor-- 3rd Shift.
Job Summary
Provides front line leadership to a skilled trade's workforce supporting a manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, distribution, and/or development & testing of motorcycles or motorcycle component parts. Schedules skilled trades activities including labor allocation and day-to-day coordination. Leads work group and supports rotation groups to achieve department metrics for safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and sustainability. Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to engage at technical workforce. Fosters a culture and workforce that is motivated for continuous improvement by enhancing the overall function of the work group.
Job Responsibilities
* Appropriately addresses issues related to established policies, procedures, processes, and behavior
* Fosters the development of a high performance work environment through focusing on overall equipment utilization and performance.
* Coaches work groups in increasing productivity through planning, performing, and monitoring operator, maintenance, and/or product development activities.
* Supports continuous improvement and strives to achieve cost effective results
* Holds team accountable to processes, systems, and results
* Provides direction to a department on a shift and administers disciplinary actions
* Works with stewards to prevent and/or resolve issues early
* Provides feedback to team members to ensure good quality throughout the group
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Education Specifications
* Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology or related field Preferred
Experience Requirements
Required
* Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
* Previous direct supervisory or similar leadership experience
* Prior knowledge and/or experience advising high performance work groups and experience with implementation and monitoring of Statistical Process Control systems and ISO9001 processes
* Demonstrated performance in the areas of leadership, change management, and continuous improvement
Preferred
* Ability to jointly lead work groups with Union leadership
