Payments are a key part of our mission to build community and bring the world closer together. As part of the Partnerships organization, Partner Engineering works with product teams across the company to identify new use cases and design solutions together with our engineering and business teams to enable new commerce and payment experiences. We own technical relationships with strategic partners to integrate critical payment functionality that serves the needs of people and businesses across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. We are seeking an experienced, impact-focused leader for the team. You will lead a globally distributed team of engineers and be responsible for projects that span both our internal and partner systems, working together with central payments teams as well as product teams across the organization.

Director, Partner Engineering - Payments Responsibilities

* Overall responsibility for the success and long term vision of the Payments Partner Engineering organization

* Drive exploration of new payments and commerce opportunities that span across the Facebook family of apps

* Work with partnerships and business development teams to define and execute on global payment product and partner strategy

* Build and manage relationships with strategically important partners in order to ensure their success providing payments services to people and businesses across Facebooks apps

* Overall responsibility for technical workstreams with partners including production code for partner integrations, ensuring scalability and reliability of our platform

* Work with product and engineering teams to contribute to and improve the core payment processing platform infrastructure

* Build internal tooling to help business and technical teams across the company work more effectively to enable new payments and commerce experiences

Minimum Qualifications

* 15+ years experience as a software engineer or partner/sales engineer and 8+ years leading large software engineering, technical consulting or sales engineering teams

* Proven experience growing teams and designing organizations to maximize impact

* Proven software development skills with experience building software developed in Python, Objective-C, PHP, C/C++, Ruby, C or other programming languages

* Deep understanding of the Web technology stack

* Experience communicating and influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority

* B.A/B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Track record leading engineering teams in the Payments space and on projects across a range of geographies
