FRL (Facebook Reality Lab) has a mission to build the AR/VR ecosystem that helps people feel connected, anytime, anywhere. We are seeking an intern to support incorporating body loss measurement and model into network simulation. In this role, you will be a key member of a team of innovators, working on leading edge wireless technologies and developing architecture to enable the future of AR/VR.
Wireless System Engineer Intern Responsibilities
* Analyze large amount of channel measurement data
* Develop methodology and procedure to incorporate the measurement data and applicable model if any, into the network simulator
* Analyze Wi-Fi network performance of AR/VR traffic model under various channel conditions
Minimum Qualifications
* Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or related field
* Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
* Experience in wireless communication, such as MAC/PHY protocols and architecture in Wi-Fi
* Experience and proficient in C/C++, MATLAB, Python coding
* Experience with event driven simulators such as network simulator (ns-3)
* Experience with version control softwares such as GIT
Preferred Qualifications
* Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
* Experience with communication theory, signal processing, MIMO, OFDM, wireless channels, channel characterization and modeling
* Experience with KPIs (performance, throughput, latency, power, etc)
* Experience in system performance debugging, analytical and problem-solving
