The Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing Group at Facebook is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager for cameras to drive impact and deliver results in highly innovative Facebook devices. This position will focus on leading one of the most strategic categories in sourcing. This will include managing an Internationally based supply base, owning supplier and partner relationships, defining the category and supply base strategy, management and negotiation of Master Product Supply Agreements and related contractual execution activities. An ideal candidate will have high ambition to grow with Facebook. You must be a high energy/impact individual with a demonstrated ability to succeed in a high-demand and fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through ambiguities/difficult obstacles through facts & data, evaluation of alternatives, open-mindedness, thought-through strategy, and superior communications to lead cross-functional organizations through sourcing activities will be required.
Strategic Sourcing Manager, Camera Responsibilities
* Develop sourcing strategy ensuring suppliers are capable of meeting Facebooks current and future technical and business requirements
* Be an expert in commodity cost and supply
* Strong command of value engineering and technical cost reduction concepts to both product and category level
* Continually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into the Facebook supply chain
* Drive Early Supplier Involvement initiatives to ensure our suppliers are proactively providing input into new product designs and future product roadmaps
* Negotiate key agreements with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
* Lead Total Cost Reduction program to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including product cost, transportation cost, inventory cost, and cost of quality
* Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical challenges, long lead time, single source, and any supply gaps
* Ownership of sourcing category and strategies, leading 5+ year technology portfolio decisions, partner selection and business negotiations
* Partner and work with a cross-functional team to drive the supplier selection process (own RFx) and component qualification both under strict engineering and commercial best practices/disciplines
* Active participate in aiding to solve technical challenges along with cross-functional partners
* Deliver most aggressive should-cost and budget (opex/capex) projections, with the ability to standup to the most aggressive alternatives, doubts, and scrutiny
* Accountability for securing components and/or services in the above category that will provide competitive advantage in both technology and cost for Facebook
* Achieve established commitments on total cost results, supply, quality and compliance adherence, and on-time delivery
* Clear command of cost inputs, cost structure and technical specifications for all major categories in scope
* Ability to travel extensively on short notice
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in engineering
* Minimum 5 years of experience as an engineer
* Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing, EPM, TPM, or business-related positions
* Knowledge and experience in consumer electronic components supply chain and cost structure
* Experience and knowledge in Optics, Cameras and Depth Sensing technology
* 5+ years of experience in product or process definition, having taken a Display, Optics, Camera/Depth Sensing product from concept to execution
* Experience vision sensing technologies, including, ToF, Structure light, VCSL, LEDs, Cameras, filters, DOE, sub-mounts, image sensors, camera lens, molded glass optics, unibody lens assembly, Wafer level optics,
* Experience in market analysis to dissect market size, players, customers, growth, technology replacements/forecasts, pricing trends, etc., to formulate sourcing strategies
* Experience in financial statement analysis to derive should-cost models and cost competitiveness/financial strengths of suppliers, as well as gathering market intelligence
* Experience articulating points of view with executive management but execute plans when directed
* Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management
* Experience working embedded with hardware and systems engineering throughout product development process of technology products
* Experience building relationships with engineering, product management, and other cross-functional partners and drive discussions around optimization of technical specifications, and features vs. value trade-offs
Preferred Qualifications
* MBA or masters degree in technical discipline
* In-factory experience
* Experience delivering best-in-class total cost of ownership (TCO), continuity of supply (COS), and business relationship management
* Interest about opportunities to establish new approach to sourcing
* Relentless drive to overachieve and no-excuses professional, making the most of resources available, and a team player who can roll-up her/his sleeves to get the job done
* Demonstrated experience thinking strategically but detailed oriented to support ideology with facts and data
