Job Title: Commercial Controls Service Technician
Department: Service Automation
Reports To: Automation Manager
Wage: Commensurate with skills
Job Duties:
* Adhere to Newcomb and Company's safety standards
* Provide diagnostics and repair services on DDC, Direct Digital Control, systems and HVAC equipment if needed.
* Strong computer skills with working knowledge of BAS, Building Automation, systems, (Trane and Honeywell)
* Having an in-depth knowledge of HVAC equipment, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration.
* Ability to troubleshoot DDC plant and field controllers using PC and meters.
* Must have an understanding of HVAC standards and practices consistent with industry requirements.
* Must have a good working knowledge of the design, operation and maintenance of a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment.
Skills/Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years combined experience within Commercial Service/Controls.
* Participate in rotating after hours controls related on call.
* Including large commercial package equipment, chillers, water-cooled self-continued equipment.
* Superior customer service
* Works well unsupervised to complete project is a safe manner and proficient manner.
* Diagnosing energized equipment utilizing proper ark flash safety gear.
* Valid Driver's License, able to pass drug test and background check
* Provide own hand tools and meters, PC, major tools and equipment provided.
* Universal refrigerant certification.
* Requires after hours emergency and service repair responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND JOB ENVIRONMENT:
* All candidates for this position should be reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 50 lb. tool, piece of equipment or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor, our warehouse, etc.
* Ability to stand, bend, and kneel when needed
* Comfortable climbing ladders and working from scissor lifts at heights.
* All Control Service Technicians typically load and unload materials for projects and move these materials into place at the job site. This may involve carrying a load in tight and difficult situations and on uneven terrain.
* All candidates will be familiar with the safe operation and capable of using hammer type drills and similar tools.
* Environmental conditions may range from outdoors at all times of the year to indoors at normal office conditions to indoor utility plants.
