Job Summary:

The Shipping/Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing a staff of non-exempt employees, packaging, picking, outbound freight, 3PL, and finished good inventory. Will lead assigned areas to effective results within the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost through use of accepted business practices and lean methodologies.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

* Lead cycle counting program and direct cycle counters daily work and corrective actions
* Coordinate material flow of finished good inventory between multiple sites and 3PL
* Manage packaging and outbound freight to meet defined customer service levels
* Recommend and implement changes to shipping capabilities, material flow, information flow, and staffing to meet productivity, customer service level, and revenue objectives
* Oversee picking efficiency and accuracy of finished good inventory
* Lead PFEP program development and deliverables with guidance from manager
* Work with customer service on customer priorities and execution of plan
* Verify counter measures and recovery plans are in place and effective for missed targets
* Champion change and drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making as well as recognizing employees for exceptional work
* Lead the day-to-day operations of the warehouse/shipping team by providing adequate resources, work direction, and problem solving to ensure business goals are met under the guidelines of company policies and procedures
* Track performance while employing problem solving methodology, to determine root cause and develop countermeasures for misses to targets
* Coach, develop, and mentor the team to meet current and future business needs with qualified and motivated individuals
* Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions, and support CPCs safety programs
* Be highly visible to employees and promote hands-on, high involvement approaches to problem solving
* Ensure that standard work and processes are followed, meeting shipping quality standards

Basic Qualifications:

* Associates, BA or BS in Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
* 8 years of experience in shipping or warehouse function
* 2 years of experience in developing and managing material flow
* 3-5 years of experience in shipping or warehouse leadership/supervisory role
* 2 years of experience coordinating inventory flow between multiple sites and 3PL
* Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and leadership skills required in order to effectively communicate initiatives and drive key business initiatives through the leadership team, nonexempt populations, and cross functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience managing or implementing a PFEP program
* Hands on experience with Oracle ERP
* Experience building tugger routes, and timed delivery of materials
* Knowledge of continuous improvement with emphasis on waste reduction techniques using the Six Sigma tools of 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, lead time reduction, SMED and visual control management.

Supervision:

20-30 non-exempt employees
