Cloud Engineer

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for design and deployment of scalable, reliable and secure cloud infrastructure. This individual must have a thorough understanding and experience with Azure, AWS, GCP and cloud service offerings, be an innovative problem solver, and visionary.

Work You'll Do

As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will be part of a team building, implementing, and administrating a leading-edge data center cloud to support Innovation products and solutions. The responsibilities include architecting the cloud, network, installing, maintaining, and supporting the tools, products, and infrastructure to meet the demands of a fast-growing cloud-based software business.

The Team

The Deloitte Consulting Innovation I&P Organic Platforms is the leading-edge product development facility for Deloitte Consulting; focused on creating cloud-based software and advanced analytics products. The portfolio spans multiple software technologies including wearables, machine learning and advanced analytics, social/mobile, and other leading technologies.

Our strategy is to augment our leading services practice with software and analytics products that strike at the heart of our clients' business problems providing them with differentiated products. To do this, our I&P Organic Platforms is built up of multiple teams including user experience/user interface designers, software architects and engineers, infrastructure and operations staff, testers, and developers. All of which follow our software quality assurance methods and standards. We are looking for people who are passionate about technology and innovation and can develop ideas into products that are relevant to solve business problems.

Qualifications

Required:

* 5+ years of relevant professional experience in a large, diverse, cloud/virtualization environment
* Bachelor-level degree in engineering, information technology, data communications, telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications. Certifications in cloud technologies preferred
* Demonstrate expert experience with architecting, implementing, administering, and securing multi-tenant/vendor cloud environment
* Professional experience in IaaS technologies such as EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, Elastic Load Balancing, beanstalk
* Professional experience in management tools such as IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Quickstart, CloudTrail, Config, and Service Catalog
* Professional experience with networking and security in a multi-tenant environment including NACLs, security groups, VPC peering, the transitive networking model, & Route 53
* Professional experience with virtual devices such as firewalls, ELB, VPG, & internet gateways.
* Design and Deployment experience in Red Hat & SUSE, and Windows.
* Expert in Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud computing technologies. Knowledge in other technologies such as Kubernetes, and native cloud services

Preferred:

* Knowledge of full lifecycle management of environments from deployment, through maintenance, to decommission
* Ability to work with service providers to enable managed services and new technologies. Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and issue management skills in a multi-platform environment
* Experience in working with on-shore, off-shore teams
* Demonstrated experience leading large projects, interpreting project requirements and working directly with clients to develop customized solutions
* Knowledge of emerging cloud technology solutions, industry trends, and progressive operations methodology.
* Preferred ability and discipline to work and succeed in a fast pace and organizationally complex environment, to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology, and to lead and manage projects
* Excellent oral and written communications ability. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
