Job Description
The Anesthesia Technician is a non-licensed person working under the supervision and guidance of a nurse or physician while performing duties. The Anesthesia Technician acts as an assistant person, handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures and is responsive to the needs of the anesthesia personnel. The Technician, through active participation, assists in planning, implementing and ensuring quality patient care during surgical procedures.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Education / Certification / Licensure:
* High School graduate or equivalent
* Certification preferred (ASATT)
Experience / Skills:
* Prior experience as Anesthesia Technician, preferred
* Knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique
* Knowledge of use of protective gear, such as face masks and gloves,
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
* Ability to flex hours and shifts due to performance of certain patient care activities, fluctuations in patient acuity and staff availability.
* Good hand dexterity.
