The MST assists with the care of individual patients as delegated by the RN or LPN. Tasks that may be delegated include, but are not limited to, vital signs, pulse oximetry, finger stick blood sugars, venipuncture, ambulation, skin care, personal assistance, incentive spirometry, simple (non-sterile dressings), assistance with initial patient history, order transcription and other clerical duties.

Education REQUIRED: High school graduate or GED.

Experience PREFERRED: Completion of C. N. A. program or experience as nursing assistance or current student in RN or LPN program who has completed basic fundamentals (skills validations).
