The Quality Assurance Technician under the direction of the Laboratory Manager will perform all routine laboratory analyses pertaining to the Pesticide Residue Laboratory. In this role you will operate analytical instrumentation and accurately calculate results in accordance with the Quality Manual.
Essential responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* 50% Performing all laboratory analyses.
* 10% Maintaining accurate records and inputs analytical data into the computer.
* 10% Receiving and preparing samples for analysis.
* 5% Participating in proficiency test samples.
* 5% Preparing standard reference solutions and other reagents.
* 5% Properly disposing waste materials in compliance with EPA requirements.
* 5% Maintaining laboratory equipment in working order.
* 5% Knowing and following company safety program expectations.
* 5% Other duties as needed or assigned.
Job Complexity:
* Complete familiarization procedures to demonstrate ability to perform methods and procedures
* Ability to solve analytical problems and interprets data.
We are looking for the following abilities and skills:
* Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration Chemistry, Biology, or other Science discipline.
* 0-2+ years of related lab-based experience.
* Experience in with a food or a consumer-packaged goods is preferred but not required.
* Evidence of competence in qualitative and quantitative instrument analyses.
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and laboratory software programs.
* Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, good communications, and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
* Normal analytical laboratory environment.
* Third Shift: Sunday to Thursday
* Third Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Work shifts include every other weekend
* Duration: January 2021 to June 2021 (approximately 6 months)
