Broadcom is looking for an experienced RF Power Amplifier IC design engineer. As a RF power amplifier designer, you will be part of the team delivering new and innovative technologies in a variety of exciting consumer wireless devices.
Candidate will design power amplifiers in frequency range from 700MHz to 6GHz and develop PA core with PCB layout and GaAs HBT IC. Perform ADS/EM simulation and tuning/characterization at the test bench
Job requires intensive and accurate EM and nonlinear circuit simulation using ADS and layout of power amplifier GaAs HBT IC using Cadence tool. It also requires hands-on RF tuning skills to optimized PA performance at the bench and extensive data analysis skill to validate the PA design over various spec over temp and VSWR.
Requirements:
- Major coursework and excellent understanding on Electromagnetic/RF/Microwave engineering/Analog circuit design/Wireless communication system.
- Deep understanding of various PA architectures including supply and load modulation techniques
- Solid understanding of BJT/HBT device physics over temperature, voltage, and current.
- Strong experience in cellular or WiFi PA design
- Extensive experience in Cadence layout tool, ADS simulation and EM simulation tool.
- Candidate should know how to work under stress to deliver time to market product
- Excellent communication skill and documentation.
- Strong teamwork skills to work with other designers and teams
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 8+ years related work experience preferred.
