Job Description:
SerDes Applications engineer for ASIC Product Division (APD. Work as part of a team of highly skilled applications engineers providing first class support to customers from pre-sales to product deployment. As part of the pre-sales a candidate will engage in technical discussion about the SerDes IP applicable and support customer evaluation of SerDes performance on test silicon. During integration of IP in customer design the candidate is required to support questions related to SerDes features, connectivity, simulation and STA. The successful candidate will work directly with the customer supporting bring up of silicon and system addressing any issue during the qualification or validation of the silicon. This individual must be highly motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team. Expertise in integrated circuit technology, high speed serial interfaces, and high speed signal integrity is required.
Education/Experience:
MSEE or equivalent plus 10 years relevant experience in SerDes design, validation and bring up of various system using Ethernet, PCIe or Fibre Channel applications
Skills required:
Detailed understanding of SerDes, Clock recovery and Equalization techniques including CTLE and DFE used for high speed 28G-112G SerDes technology using NRZ or PAM4 signaling
Knowledge of serial communications standards used for Ethernet, PCIe and Fibre Channel applications
Use of state of the art test equipment including BERTs, sampling scopes, real time scopes
Extensive knowledge of ASIC design flow including RTL, simulation, synthesis, STA and DFT
General knowledge of semiconductor technology and ASIC implementation flow
Excellent oral and written communication
