Biogen is seeking a highly motivated scientist to develop and execute cell line engineering strategies to support diverse bioassays that characterize both recombinant protein and gene therapy products in the Analytical Development department.

Responsibilities:

* The individual will work to establish platform cell lines and screening methods to support functional bioassays for various drug products. The candidate will collaborate closely with project scientists on designing and engineering of product-specific cell lines to impact portfolio programs.
* Responsibilities include design and implementation of experiments, data analysis, report writing, and reviewing, delivering technical presentations and mentoring junior scientists. The individual will also be involved in new technology evaluation and implementation.
* The position requires an ability to work independently in a highly interdisciplinary environment, as well as active interaction and collaboration with group members and project team scientists.

Qualifications

* Requires extensive experience with cell line engineering, lentiviral vectors and CRISPR technology.
* Requires proficiency in molecular and cellular techniques, including cell culture, molecular cloning, flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy.
* Requires experience in assay development and method troubleshooting.
* Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as bioassays in 96-well format.
* Experience with AAV is highly desirable.

Education:

Ph.D. in neuroscience, cellular biology or related field with 0-2 years of post-degree work experience or M.S. with 4-6 years of relevant experience or B.S. with 6-8 years of relevant experience. Industry experience is preferred.
