Autoliv, Inc., a world leader in development and manufacture of automotive safety is currently accepting resumes for a QA Lab Supervisor/QE to provide hands on experience and support in the manufacturing environment at the Autoliv Pyrotechnic Processing Facility in Promontory, Utah. This Facility makes propellants for automotive airbags.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Creates yearly goals for the lab to support the Quality Policy Deployment and tracks progress and creates recovery plans as needed

Directly supervises and trains lab AMTs (shift supervisors) and properly assigns/directs the AMTs standard work

Creates and updates all laboratory standards and procedures as needed

Works with R&D to transfer across and validate all new test methods and instrumentation for all formulations

Ensures that shift cleaning, 5S assignments, and all training is done in a timely manner

Provides laboratory support/contact for company engineers

Performs a variety of chemical and physical tests/statistical analyses on materials, products, and components for the purpose of determining product acceptance, chemical content, and process control to meet company/customer specifications

Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs test instruments and related equipment

Ensures that lab follows all Quality/Environmental Standards and actively participates in Quality/Environmental Audits

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a Bachelors Degree. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering are preferred, but other STEM degree may be considered

Must have basic knowledge of analytical instruments and interpreting of results

Must have strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with 8D

Must have working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methods

Must have basic knowledge of statistics (SPC, Gage R&R, etc

Should be familiar with the following tools and techniques: FMEA, 5S, Standardized Work Instructions, Control Plans, Quality Management Systems

Must have integrity (accountability, keep commitments, etc.) and produce quality results.
