Beckman Coulter Life Sciences has an amazing new opportunity for a Manager, Corporate Sustainability, to join our extraordinary team.

This new position is responsible for crafting, leading, and executing a global sustainability strategy across the organization in coordination with the Corporate EHS and Danaher EHS functions. This position will work well with all levels within the organization as it delivers against the annual DHR sustainability goals.

You will develop, drive, and supervise usage and cost reduction and avoidance initiatives such as energy, fuel, waste, water, maintenance/repair, indirect services and supplies, and international carbon taxes.

This leader will work with site leadership teams to ensure that planning, programming, and justification, including the evaluation and development of the plants facilities plan, align with business objectives including energy management and environmental sustainability programs.

This position provides leadership and coordinates with multiple partners and departments within our organization. This role must be seen as a collaborator and is able to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects with limited supervision.

The qualified candidate will have a strong desire to learn and grow and be successful in driving the Beckman LS Sustainability initiatives using Danaher Business System tools with energy and passion.

Key responsibilities

* Lead a company-wide impact by developing & implementing the global sustainability strategy with Danaher's sustainability goals and objectives.

* Develop and implement policies, practices, and associated standard work. Work with L1 leaders to establish an approach to sustainability.

* Lead implementation of program initiatives to meet or exceed Danaher energy and waste reduction goals. You will be the subject matter specialist regarding building, energy management, and environmental sustainability systems.

Global energy management:

* Coordinate global energy management data collection and execute analysis to identify trends and opportunities.

* Improve environmental sustainability and optimize costs associated with energy, utilities, and waste disposal. Lead waste reduction kaizen events using the DBS 4E toolkit.

* Build and maintain a positive relationship with the facilities team by providing development opportunities and the resources to reach sustainability maturity.

* Identification, prioritization, and justification of facility capital projects & facility systems upgrades and ensure that energy efficiencies are collected.

* Establish relationships with R&D, HR, Procurement, Sales, and Marketing to collaborate with key customers and suppliers on sustainability goals and initiatives. Using the voice of the customer, evolve the product design process to introduce sustainability concepts and practices.

* Partner with Corporate Communication team to develop a company-wide communication plan regarding facilities and sustainability goals, initiatives, and activities.

* Collaborate with Danaher sustainability partners and SMEs to develop and mature environmental DBS toolkit to identify current practices, opportunities, and action plan templates.

* Actively participate and contributes to energy & sustainability strategic conference calls, local energy management council meetings, industry sustainability chapters, and Danaher facilities steering committee discussions.

* Work with customer service to coordinate messages and communication to customers and other interested parties regarding BEC LS facilities, projects, and activities. Produce a monthly activity report/bowler that will be distributed to key internal customers and LBS L1 leadership in coordination with Corporate EHS.

* Identify Federal, State, and local jurisdiction incentives to drive fiscally-positive facilities initiatives. Support other Corporate EHS initiatives, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

Education

* Required! Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) with a focus in Environmental Management & Sustainability, Occupational Safety & Health Management, Industrial Hygiene, or other related science/engineering degree.

Ideal Experience

* 5 to 7 years EHS and/or sustainability program development & implementation

* 3 plus years' running energy and water reduction, recycling, reuse, and waste management projects.

* 3 plus years' driving projects and leading data using lean and six sigma tools such as problem-solving, value stream mapping, and kaizen events.

* Biased toward action with excellent time leadership skills with an ability to understand key achievements, goals, and objectives while leading groups of internal and external resources to meet project goals.

* Outstanding record and willingness to adjust and adapt to changing conditions.

* Ability to influence across functions and all levels and departments.

Certifications Preferred

(one or more equivalent or eligible to sit for the exam)

* Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

* Certified Energy Manager (CEM)

* Project Management Professional (PMP)

* Master Black Belt, 6 Sigma, Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, LEAN OpEx.

* Travel (required estimated % of the time) 25% to 50% domestic and international
