The Business Analyst is part of Optum's new Direct-to-Consumer business team. This team sits at the intersection of health care and retail, to support consumers as they assume a greater role in their health and wellness ownership. Specifically, the Business Analyst will support short and long term operational and strategic business activities by evaluating and defining business processes, identifying requirements, and managing the execution of key growth strategies. The Business Analyst will interact with all areas of the business including technology, logistics, supply chain, operations, marketing, finance, and clinical in order to analyze and implement identified opportunities.

To be successful, candidates will have demonstrated success in applying their analytic and problem-solving skills to recommended business solutions, based in their research, analysis and data modeling. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate how they can synthesize and concisely communicate their recommended solutions to business leaders and stakeholders and bring them to life.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Collecting and interpreting data; identifying patterns and trends; turning data into information which can offer ways to improve a business process, thus affecting business decisions
* Identifying specific business opportunities based on analysis and influencing stakeholder support
* Testing business processes and recommending improvements
* Assessing and interpreting customer (internal or external) needs and requirements
* Solving challenging problems and/or conducting complex analyses
* Translating concepts into practice, including defining requirements for a compelling user experience
* Support business and development team priorities by supplying use cases, business requirements, and acceptance criteria, based on analysis. (May be cross-functional as determined by use cases.)
* Participates in discussions with key stakeholders to communicate information learned from analyses and provide input into product or business strategy
* Leads and oversees efforts to identify and test, key business assumptions and hypotheses around product or business strategy
* Continuously refines hypotheses and identifies business questions to explore further
* Develops the analytical framework and blueprint to answer business questions identified in the business portfolio, product, or member experience
* Applies expert analytical rigor to define outcome measures, increase agility in decisioning, improve ability to evaluate progress towards business outcomes, and to evaluate risks to strategic goals
* Monitor market makers, benchmarked organizations and consumer trends; leveraging insights in hypothesis and business case analysis

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree
* 2 years experience as a business analyst or similar role (project analyst or project manager)
* 2 years experience in eCommerce and web technologies, healthcare and/or retail
* 2 years experience using data and process modeling
* 2 years experience with process and workflow evaluation and improvement
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
* You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location, however, may be required to work from home temporarily due to space limitations
* Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
