Corporate Services includes roughly 400 employees in departments that provide vital support and partnership to UHG businesses and includes Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement, Enterprise Operations Strategy, Enterprise Real Estate Services, Enterprise Resiliency and Response and Strategic Planning & Analysis. Corporate Service departments provide innovative strategic planning and execution, analysis and reporting, using advanced big data tools, to ensure the enterprise operates at its highest potential. Examples include continually evolving sourcing strategies, streamlining processes to enhance our services across the entity, real estate planning that drives an efficient footprint through ongoing consolidation and state-of-the-art workplace efficiency, and business continuity planning that protects the revenue generation and service capabilities of the largest engines of UHG, worldwide.

As a UHG Corporate Services Senior Business Analyst, you will work closely with UHG Corporate Services management to participate in analysis that may include any of the following: commodity strategy leading to vendor requirement validation and selection across the entity (RFP and business case analysis), vendor oversight activities to ensure performance, safe and secure data, integration of acquired companies, innovative information technology planning, business case development for real estate or other funding proposals, long term real estate planning and investigating the success of workplace efficiency models, enterprise-wide process improvement projects, data management and reporting improvements to facilitate decision making. Candidates should be able to gather business information and synthesize it logically and analytically.

You will be empowered to support short and long term operational/strategic business activities; develop, enhance and maintain operational information and models that will have an impact on business decisions. In this leadership role, you will have the opportunity to take the contributions of analysts and create valuable solutions to improve the health care system.

You will be included in UHG's summer intern program which includes 1) working on a summer intern project presented to a board of UHG leaders; 2) lunch and learn sessions led by a variety of UHG leaders; 3) social responsibility events; and 4) other social activities to engage with UHG leaders and your internship peers.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data
* Review the analysis and interpretation of others work
* Oversee ad-hoc client and operational reports developed and presented by others
* Present analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning
* Support short and long term operational / strategic business activities through analysis
* Develop and implement effective / strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college / university and currently enrolled in a Graduate degree program (MBA preferred) scheduled to finish by June 2022
* Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA
* Must be willing to work out of Minnesota Corporate office during the summer of 2021
* Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)
* You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting, however, may be required to work from home temporarily due to space limitations
* Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience gathering requirements from the client / business and documenting
* Experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes
* Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
* Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to clients and the business in writing and verbally
* Working knowledge of relational databases and database structures
* Strong history of quickly gaining credibility, partnering with business leaders and exhibiting executive presence
* Proven ability to articulate business strategies and formulate concise solutions to complex problems
* Excellent consultative, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
* Champion continuous change, consult with versatility, exhibit personal leadership and model a customer orientation
* Ability to effectively drive results in a dynamic, matrixed environment with a high degree of organizational change, growth and ambiguity
