WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As our Innovation and Lab Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Accessories Innovation and Lab team and ensuring execution of our Innovation agenda. This includes delivery of novel product and platform innovations aligned to the Accessories business needs as well as ensuring the function, maintenance and expansion of our Accessories Innovation Research Lab.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will be expected to champion a team culture of collaboration and failing forward. You will also build the future of Accessories Innovation and develop new performance-based evaluation solutions that result in growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace. You must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills through an ability to deliver multiple innovative solutions to complex problems. You will collaborate with individuals across the business to build alignment with the various Nike teams, share the capabilities of Accessories Innovation and Testing as well as drive advancements in objective product performance creation and evaluation at Nike.

This position requires a leader with technical expertise who can ideate, innovate and manage a team of innovators through complex dynamic problems while collaboration in a fast-paced environment. As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following key attributes:

* Demonstrated passion for advanced innovation, product creation and objective performance evaluation
* Ability to lead the team through sophisticated technical challenges
* Knowledge of mechanical design, experimental mechanics and mechanical simulation
* Thrives in an environment with ambiguity and changes in priorities
* Ability to apply athletic knowledge and insights in crafting new innovations and evaluation methods
* Clearly communicate strategy and technical topics to diverse audiences at all levels within the organization
* Strong analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills

* Ability to work with and influence multi-functional teams
* Ability to lead people and execute projects (Player/Coach)

WHAT YOU BRING

* BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Biomechanics or similar technical field
* 8+ years experience in product design, testing and engineering, or other similar function
* Experience leading people Leading in an Innovation/R&D environment preferred.
* Experience in delivering product innovations from concept to commercialization
* Experience with product testing, materials testing, and experimental design
* Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills
* Excellent collaboration and leadership skills
* Knowledge of sporting goods R&D and performance testing a strong plus
* Ability to operate various pieces of mechanical equipment
* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
* Ability to travel locally between headquarters and an off-site test lab
* Ability to travel internationally
