The Investments Business Solution Area supports the technology needs of Nationwide Investments and Nationwide Asset Management. Nationwide Investments manages the invested assets of Nationwide supporting property and casualty and financial services companies. Additionally, Nationwide Investments sub-advises certain fixed income mutual funds and third-party accounts. Assets under management are in excess of $100 Billion.
This Systems Analyst will work on an agile team in Investments Technology. The Analyst will be responsible for eliciting data and/or functional requirements from investment professionals and creating specifications for applications or data interfaces between various proprietary systems and our centralized data warehouse/analytics platform. Assignments may be new work or enhancements of earlier work.
The successful candidate should have these skills:
* Able to formulate and define system scope, update requirements asset for the application suite, and analyze impacts of proposed modification.
* Able to decompose functional and technical requirements into detailed system specification work products.
* Able to develop, write, and communicate systems design, functional system specifications.
* Able to analyze and review existing system logic and flowcharts for dependent or interfacing systems.

* Investigate, resolve and escalate problems and develop recommendations for resolution.

* Familiar with SQL, can read and understand procedural code written in PL/SQL, familiar with Oracle and data warehouse concepts.
* Can read and understand Informatica mappings/workflows.
* Has demonstrated learning agility by mastering similarly complex business or technical domains in previous work.
* Has a curious mindset, critical thinking skills, and good communication skills.
* Work Experience in Financial/Investment industry or understand basic investment concepts is very beneficial.

Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications or designation are not required but encouraged.
Experience: Six years of relevant work experience including software delivery or educational experience within a technology domain. Experience with delivering Technology and/or business solutions across industries, platforms and/or lines of business (LOB) within the insurance and/or financial services industries. Demonstrated capability in managing the requirements lifecycle, including facilitation, elicitation, and documenting requirements.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills, knowledge of planning. Ability to influence, negotiate and set priorities needed. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, including leadership or technical skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
