Position Summary
Develop, enhance, own, manage and communicate all aspects of electronic transaction level reconciliation for company enterprise transactions. This includes, but is not limited to, supermarket, fuel and online card transactions processed on all company payment systems. Work with parties to ensure collection of submitted, but unpaid transactions. Research the root cause of the reconciliation variances and work with parties to resolve any systemic issues. This position is not responsible for recording the accounting entries resulting from the POS and banking process. Essential Job Functions

* Perform the reconciliation of electronic card transactions between payment report server and third-party payment processors
* Perform reconciliation of electronic card transactions between POS and payment report server
* Perform reconciliation of electronic card settlement funding between bank statements and third-party payment processors
* Establish and maintain understanding of payment processor's reporting systems
* Complete transaction reconciliations in a timely manner by corporate financial standards
* Keep manager updated on account reconciliations and financial impacts
* Compare reconciliation results to over/short journal entries recorded by RASC
* Research reconciliation variances to identify root cause and investigate any systemic issues with funds settlement
* Research reconciliation variances to resolve unpaid items that were properly submitted
* Establish and maintain thorough understanding of payment types accepted and how they flow to Sales Journal, General Ledger and treasury
* Develop reconciliation process for any new payment types introduced into payment environment
* Serve as the primary contact for accounting and bank reconciliation issues as they relate to card transactions
* Participate as subject matter expert on project calls involving customer payment acceptance
* Generate and maintain aging of any unpaid transactions identified during reconciliation
* Create financial reports related to reconciliation functions
* Travel to divisions to attend meetings

Minimum Position Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field
* Any experience in an accounting/controller office
* 2+ years of experience in managing electronic payments
* 10-key by touch, speed & accuracy
* Advanced knowledge and experience with 3 & 4 party systems with payments
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office

Desired Previous Experience/Education

* Any experience as a staff accountant, accounting supervisor, accounting manager, etc.
* 2+ years of experience with managing a team of 10 to 20 associates
* 2+ years of experience with general ledger accounting, monthly closing process, etc.
