What youll achieve
As a Senior Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customers business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.
You will:
Design and lead the effort on automation, CI/CD processes and tools to make our services simpler and more robust
Mentor team members in design collaboration, code reviews, development tools and processes
Take part in the full software development life cycle including development, test, continuous delivery and support
Be an active member of an agile team, collaboratively realizing features through development, test and delivery

Essential Requirements
13+ years of software development experience
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Agility to adapt to technologies and processes quickly
Strong development/programming experience in Python/Ansible/ Kubernetes

Desirable Requirements
Bachelors or masters degree in computer science or related field
Experience with vRealize Orchestrator, vRealize Automation, Enterprise Storage, Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence)

About Business Unit:

Dell's Digital Enterprise IT organization, Global Operations team is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to deliver on initiatives for our global cross segment customers. Global Operations delivers Digital Licensing & Fulfillment and Supply chain capabilities and leverages digital tools and technologies, to enhance Business performance while elevating Dell as the partner of choice. You will play a defining role in the continuing evolution of Dells Digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead, Design and develop new applications, and enhance existing components for the applications, using Java/J2EE technologies.
* Participate in the full product development lifecycle of software applications
* Research, validate, and recommend key technology decisions for core platform, and other customer-facing offerings
* Keep up to date on latest software development technologies and methodologies.
* Drive or contribute to development standards as necessary.
* Provide production support to operational staff on key issues as need arises and during release of new software
* Candidate should be able to work in global development environment
* Designing user interaction models, workflows and user interfaces
* Integrating internal and external product design into a cohesive user experience
* Successfully communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale
* Collaborate with other engineers in design and code review processes and serve as an active member of Agile team.

Essential Requirements:

* Bachelor of Engineering/Technology degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* 12+ years of experience leading large design and development efforts and coordinating project teams of 10 or more members
* Strong software development experience in Java, Java Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring integration, Spring security, and REST services, Design patterns and architectures.
* Advanced knowledge on latest Integration technologies and trends in the Industry. Must have a strategic outlook on Integration and IT technologies and help direct the organization towards the Future state of the Integration Platform.
* Should have experience in PL/SQL programming using Oracle 12c and higher version.
* Proven track record of successfully delivering high volume and high availability transactional applications under tight time constraints.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus
* Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems
* Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form
* Proven experience of delivering quality solutions on a fast-moving business environment

Desirable Requirements:

* Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development methodologies and software development lifecycle principles
* Experience working with JAVA based products from a technical standpoint is a plus
