Job Description

We are building our own Hybrid Cloud - Calatrava with the ultimate goal to migrate our various Line of Business Cloud-Native Applications to our own Cloud.
Specifically, the Calatrava Hybrid Cloud will offer a set of services people would expect from any cloud, including VM-aaS, K8s-aaS, Postgres-aaS, Kafka-aaS, and many more. These services are offered to application teams with a production SLA meeting or exceeding those similar services provided by other cloud providers, available in a variety of locations/regions, essentially anywhere our SDDC (Software Defined Datacenter) runs including customer SDDCs.
The Calatrava Hybrid Cloud will be built by leveraging on Tanzu K8S Grid and Project Pacific. We are at the very early stage of setting up the initial few services, such as Postgres and Kafka. This is an exciting opportunity to interact with VMwares top-level engineers and gain hands-on experience of building

VMware's own Hybrid Cloud Services.

Requirements:
1. MS or PhD or equivalent in EE, CS or related field, with 8+ years of experience in software architecture, design and development
2. 3+ years of experience as feature/component development lead for SaaS solutions and Cloud-based services
3. Experience with K8S container technologies
4. Proficiency and experience with virtualization and application virtualization technologies in a data center environment
5. Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Development pipeline
6. Golang programming experience
7. Excellent communication skills and team player
8. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills
1. Familiar with storage management domain knowledge
2. Experience contributing to open source projects
