Job Description
Develops, implements, and maintains a robust safety management system (SMS), including regulatory compliance, safety policy, and risk management. Successful applicant must have extensive operational experience in aviation safety.
* Ensures operational compliance with federal and local regulations, as well as the company's policies and procedures
* Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with IS-BAO standards (or equivalent).
* Cultivate a collaborative safety culture
* Develops, implements, and maintains Aviation Emergency Response plan
* Supervises and/or assists as needed with qualification and selection of supplemental lift.
* Works as an International Captain in a substantial capacity in addition to the duties performed as Safety Manager
* Provide business decisions to support the Strategic Business Plan in liaison with the Aviation leadership team
* Participates in the development and implementation of flight policies and guidelines.
* Maintains Fatigue Management Program
* Maintain Corporate Flight Operations Quality Assurance (C-FOQA) Program
Required:
* 10+ years of corporate, commercial or military aviation experience
* 2+ years of experience in a safety leader role under an ISBAO-accredited (or equivalent) organization
* Experience that demonstrates excellent organizational and project management abilities
* Excellent writing and communication skills
Preferred:
* Certified IS-BAO auditor or similar accredited experience
* MBA
* Formal safety management training
* Experience using the PRISM SMS and PFM software packages (or equivalent)
