Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Flexible Detail position located in the Corinth, MS facility. As a Flexible Detailer 2, the primary job responsibility would be achieving PQVC metrics of the assigned detail operations. The employee would be as subject matter expert and move to multiple detail and support (team member) positions throughout their value stream detail operation.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
This position is a hands-on role that is physically demanding, and candidate must be able to lift 14 lbs consistently on a daily basis. Candidate will use detail tools (vibratory tools, impact guns, wrenches, needle guns, handheld grinder, etc.) and hoist / crane to complete work. Responsible for the continuous improvement of standard work when discrepancies are found. Understands component scrap decisions and utilizes andons to communicate. Promote a salvage culture through quality of work performed over quantity of product detailed. Understands upstream and downstream processes for core acceptance criteria; reusability guidelines; multi-level salvageability decision making; and functional business knowledge understanding the impact of decisions being made regarding the product. Commitment to keeping the parts in the best possible condition when detailed and inspecting for noticeable defects. Demonstrated ability to operate and promote a 'safety first' attitude. Demonstrated ability to operate and promote a quality culture Ability to work with material coordinators in order to follow the reclaim schedule.
Will be the area subject matter expert for the detailing operation in the area they ae working in. Will be required to perform Standard Work Audits on the detail process when needed. Will be required to train new operators under the guidance of area Team Lead to support the OJT process.
Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience
* 1 year or more previous detail experience
Top Candidates will also have:
* Overall product and process knowledge and experience throughout detail value stream
* Experience reading & understanding and technical usage of the elements of standard work.
* Experience in systems related to: BIQ/ MES
* Experience in multiple detail operations
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to use various pneumatic hand tools
* Will wear a detail suit and/or respirator.
* Must be able to pass a respirator physical and will complete respirator training.
* May be required to lift, push, pull heavy parts multiple times per shift.
* Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours
Must be able to work overtime as needed
Job Bid Eligibility Requirements:
* Any current agency workers applying to this position must have worked the required 90 days in order to be considered as well as meeting all requirements for the position.
Additional Information:
Work Hours: 4PM - 2AM
Work Location: Corinth, MS
Starting Hourly Rate: $14.94 with an additional $.60 night shift premium
This is a full time position with full benefits including 401K with 6% company match.
